PORTLAND FESTIVAL SYMPHONY TRADITIONS
Inspired by children and designed to promote musical curiosity,

Instrument Petting Zoo
The trademark of Portland Festival Symphony and true to it's name! Just like an animal petting zoo, elementary aged children are invited to come and inspect the instruments and meet the musicians in person! How does a musician vibrate a string to make a note? How does wind create music? Don't be afraid to ask.

The brainchild of Founder Lajos Balogh, the Instrument Petting Zoo is designed to inspire curiosity for music and create a positive experience for children.

The next Instrument Petting Zoo will be occur during intermission of our Saturday August 16th performance at Foothills Park in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Performance begins promptly at 7:00 PM.
